A Square Clubface at Impact - This Simple Exercise Shows You How to Get It

Everyone, even the top touring professionals, has a swing quirk that prevents the club from coming back to impact square, thus creating curved ball flight. That's all right as long as the curve is manageable. If the curve your swing creates is so large that it's sending the ball out of play, it's time to correct whatever is causing it. Here's how to figure out what you're doing and how to fix it.

From your address position, with the clubface square to an imaginary target line, swing the club back to where your hands are waist high and stop. Turn your torso back to the front, bring your arms to the front, and, without re-orienting your hands, lower the clubhead to the ground. If the clubface isn't square you've found where your clubface gets out of square. It's in your takeaway.

If the clubface is square, start over and swing back to where your hands are shoulder high and stop. Once again, bring your torso and arms to the front without re-orienting your hands and replace the clubhead on the ground. Is the clubface square? If not, you've found the area where the change occurs.

Keep enlarging your swing a piece at a time, to the top of your backswing and down to impact, until you find out where the club is getting out of square. When you find that place, the next step is to find out how to correct your swing so the clubface stays square at that point.

Swing to the point that you have identified as the place where your clubface gets out of square. We'll call that position 2. Now just turn your hands so the clubface is back in square, and swing slowly in reverse to the last place the clubface was square. This is position 1. Swing slowly between positions 1 and 2, back and forth, in such a way that the clubface stays square when you get to position 2. Find out what you have to do differently to keep that clubface square between these two positions. You'll do it mostly by feel, and it will seem odd at first because it's not what you're used to doing.

After you have learned to keep the clubface square between these two positions, start taking slow full swings, checking to see that the clubface is square when it gets back to impact. After a while you can start swinging a little faster, but not so fast at first that you can't still feel the correction you made. When you've finally learned to swing at normal speed, with the correction now feeling like a natural part of your swing, it's time to try out your new swing at the range.

Keep in mind that you have embarked on changing a long-standing habit. Expect it to take over a year of steady practice to make the change your new habit.

The Psychological Impact of Being in the Spotlight

The experience of being a highly visible person such as television/movie stars, professional athletes, and high ranking officials, has been researched and investigated for many years. I will refer to all of those within these categories as Celebrities. Despite the research, little has been written about what the psychological impact actually means for the Celebrity. While it is true that in relation to the Celebrity themselves, being famous often leads to a total loss of privacy, a strong sense of entitlement, often unreasonable or demanding expectations, gratification of their ego, and a sense of immortality. Reasons for which, most people are unable to comprehend.

For most Celebrities, being famous leads to wealth, unbridled access to people, place and things, tremendous temptations, as well as fear and concern about the effect on their families. Compassion is rarely a word or feeling a Celebrity encounters by others. Too often, the charmed life perception leaves little room for empathy or sympathy. Walking a mile in one's shoes might very well be the moral of this article for anyone who feels dismayed by a Celebrity's complaint about their life or the tragedy they encounter. For better or worse, there is a clear and distinct psychological shift from being overly exposed to the media spotlight.

The recent terrorists' attacks in Delhi, on the 13th of September, 2008, in the capital city of India, killing as many as 30 hapless victims and injuring more than 100 persons, once again triggered a hot discussion throughout India about the terrorists continued presence and attacks in the recent past.

The analysis of the series of terrorists attacks proved that they had international links by virtue of the technical know-how they had used for bombings and they were aimed at the common people since the bombs had been placed in the busy area where people converged in large numbers. The series of bomb attacks followed the recent terrorists' attacks that happened in Jaipur, Ahamadabad, Mumbai and Banglaore in the recent past.Another shocking revelation was that Indian Intelligence failed miserably to assess such a situation.

The threat made by the terrorists and their series of attacks confirm that India has become a safe heaven for terrorists.The present laws aimed at nabbing the terrorists are not sufficient to book and root out them.The UPA government has repealed the 'POTA' Act which was a special act aiming to curb and root out the activities of terrorists.It seems in the absence of such acts the activities and the attacks by the terrorists is on the increase. The clamor of the Opposition parties including the BJP for the restoration of POTA Act is not without substance. It was an irony that the UPA Government under the pressure of its alliance partners rather hastily repealed the act without any strong reason or justification in its favour. Now the alliance partners call for speedy action against the terrorists.

Another thing that we have to take up seriously for consideration, what prompted the repeated terrorists attacks targeting various cities.The attack by terrorists on Delhi confirmed that it was prompted by the demolition of the Babrimasjid. Though we may not justify the terrorists attacks on various cities in India, we cannot deny the fact that the demolition of the Babrimasjid, carried out by the religious fundamentalists of Hinduism and the involvement of political leaders belonging to BJP, is an affront and a shame to the proclaimed secular fabric of India.Though the incident happened decades ago and even an enquiry commission has been set up by the Indian Government to enquire into the episode, so far so many extensions have been given to the commission and the commission is yet to publish its report.

Therefore, under the circumstances mentioned above, it is the duty of India to prove its credentials to the world that it is truly and sincerely a secular country and expose and book the persons who are against the secular fabric.India's high powered intelligence needs a rebuke and revamping to prevent the recurrence of any such attacks in the future. In order to check and root out the terrorists activities from India, it is also necessary that India should take more stringent measures against the terrorists either by restoring the POTA Act or by taking even more effective steps so as to root out and curb the terrorists activities.Otherwise, India as one of the growing world powers will stand hopelessly exposed.

One "ah ha" moment I had recently was having my teach pro put me in the exact position, to feel it, look at it, and realize how my body feels in this position. Wow! I'm telling you I've never felt that before, and I'm a 7 handicap golfer, having played for over 15 years now.

So what's that say to all the golfers out there who are struggling to hit straight golf shots?

In my humble opinion, you must first start at impact, then work your way back in your swing. If you can't get it right doing a little chip shot, you'll never get it doing a full one. So the key is to get in the proper position in front of a mirror. Look at it. Feel it in your muscles and body. Now get back to your address position. Feel that. Now, go back and forth between address and impact to get the exact feel for the difference between the two.

Once you get this feeling down, you need to progress to a chip shot like mentioned above. This is only taking the club back 1-2 feet and contacting the ball. This way you can check your position post-impact to see if it's correct. This little drill you can do hundreds of times and not get tired, and what you are doing is ingraining the proper feel into your body. I can't tell you how much this will improve your consistency, power and distance.

If you struggle with off-center hits, whether it be off the toe, or near the hosel (shank), then you MUST do this drill over-and-over again until you hit the center of your clubface. Once you do, you will gain confidence to make a slightly bigger swing. And one great thing is your chipping around the greens will dramatically improve, which will lower your scores immediately. That's what I call icing on the cake.

So in conclusion, to improve golf swing impact, do the address/impact drill. Then progress to little chip shots and you're on your way to being a much more consistent golfer.

I think we need to change the way society values people, there are testimonies of teenagers that were very happy, but when they started dieting due to an emotional problem they had caused by a critique of their weight, their life became miserable. Adolescents want to be loved and accepted in society, so when people critiques their body or physical appearance, sometimes the frustration is so big, that they do anything to be accepted be liked.

The consequence is that adolescents start dieting and exercising with obsession, to the point that they starve themselves and hurt their body. They also see all the celebrities in tv as perfect and they want to be like them, very thin.

Anorexia is an emotional problem and cannot be solved just with medications, the person needs to understand that what she is doing is wrong and is damaging her self. She needs to feel loved and accepted by her family to recover from this disorder, she needs to change her self image.

Society is causing a negative impact on teenagers, they are acquiring the wrong values from the media and take celebrities as their role model of success. Parents have to make their child aware of this problem and its consequences.

When you think about allergies, the first thought that pops into your mind is probably seasonal pollen or food allergies. However, one allergy often overlooked when it comes to dental treatment is metal allergies or sensitivities.

You've noticed when you walk through the jewelry section in a department store; certain items are clearly marked "nickel free" or "sensitive." The truth is that some metals cause people to develop a tissue irritation that prevents them from wearing certain kinds of jewelry. The skin develops an itchy rash in most cases.

The same is to be said for dental fillings. Gingival sensitivity and irritation can develop from metal alloys being used to treat tooth decay, or orthodontic work. Old-fashioned amalgam fillings contain a metal alloy mixture composed of mercury, silver and tin. For patients who are sensitive to certain types of metal such as tin, it may be a wise option to consider having their dental restorations completed with a tooth-colored composite material.

Composite fillings are metal-free and made to match the shade of the teeth. They appear more natural when smiling, talking and laughing. Because they are not made of metal they do not tarnish or darken over time as amalgam fillings do. Another difference in the two types of fillings is that amalgam fillings require more tooth structure to be removed in order for the filling to be placed. Composite fillings are by far, the safest and most comfortable alternative.
